Motivational Interviewing for Health & Service Providers

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative conversation used to strengthen motivation and commitment to change through a framework for eliciting and setting goals from the client or patient. As providers incorporate MI skills and strategies into day-to-day work, the effectiveness of MI becomes apparent. This course is for a broad spectrum of health and service providers working with clients and patients who have opioid or other substance use disorders taught by MI expert and author Marilyn Stein of MGS Consulting. The core MI information taught in the course is applicable across a broad spectrum of needs and issues (ex. smoking cessation, health concerns, relationships, major life changes). The content is evidence-based, versatile and can be used for anyone working with those focused on improving their life.
